The edition werner aisslinger marks a new high point in the series of successful collaborations between the JAB ANSTOETZ Group and designer Werner Aisslinger. The capsule collection from JAB ANSTOETZ Fabrics comprises four floor-to-ceiling curtain fabrics characterised by functional precision and a striking aesthetic of colour and material. Delicate crêpe textures, subtle iridescent effects and transparent colour overlays make a bold statement in the textile design of contemporary architecture.
Werner Aisslinger is one of Germany’s most influential designers. His designs range from experimental material studies and utopian living concepts to lighting and furniture, which he integrates into hotels, restaurants, offices and retail projects. His collage-like signature style is distinctive: colour, material, form and surface come together to create surprising and dynamic scenarios.
“It was a pleasure to work with Pascal Walter’s team of professionals to create these fabrics for the capsule collection. This is new territory for me, and it’s extremely complex and challenging, as the project goes far beyond simply creating colour palettes – translucent fabric overlays, reflections, light and shadow, as well as the ability to harmonise with typical interior materials and other fabrics, give rise to a vast array of options, which are then tested for feasibility and marketability and distilled down to the core of the collection – a complex and incredibly exciting design task.”

The edition werner aisslinger marks the launch of the first textile collection. As with the development of the wall and ceiling panels for JAB ANSTOETZ Acoustics, two perspectives have complemented each other perfectly in this project: the textile development expertise of the design team led by Pascal Walter, Head of Design at JAB ANSTOETZ Fabrics, and Werner Aisslinger’s creative approach to architecture and interior design.
How colour schemes are created
Werner Aisslinger approaches fabrics from the perspective of colour, atmosphere and spatial impact. As a practitioner of spatial design, he and his team are experts in how textures, colours and materials interact with light and shadow to create a successful spatial effect and a harmonious composition.
The design team at JAB ANSTOETZ Fabrics, on the other hand, starts with the material, yarn and weave, working in collaboration with suppliers on light control, acoustic effects, flame retardancy and ease of care. Whilst quality development was the responsibility of JAB ANSTOETZ Fabrics, Werner Aisslinger developed the colour scales and colour schemes. From numerous mood boards, colour charts and fabric samples emerged colour ranges that create a perfect colour spectrum suitable for both residential and contract applications.
It is no coincidence that shades of sand, yellow and ochre take centre stage, as the earthy, landscape-inspired colour palette of desert landscapes and mountains with warm undertones served as Werner Aisslinger’s primary reference. The designer drew on intensive studies of light and impressions of nature, and, as a fan of science fiction classics such as ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Dune’, found further inspiration in these works.
Werner Aisslinger has paired finely nuanced shades of sand, stone and yellow with mineral tones, which find their counterparts in muted shades of blue, grey and green.
“Working with Werner Aisslinger was particularly enriching for us, as he approaches the use of colour and colour combinations from a completely different perspective. Through his work on interior concepts, in which fabrics are used as an integral part of a larger whole, he views our product from a different angle. The intensive dialogue during the development phase and the final colour workshop resulted in colour palettes that bear a unique, unmistakable signature.“

Functionality meets colour aesthetics
The Werner Aisslinger collection comprises four fabrics designed to deliver both aesthetic appeal and functional performance in demanding environments: a transparent printed fabric, two plain qualities, and a blackout fabric.
SILENT COLOURS explores transparency, sheen, and vibrant colour. The graphic, organic print design is composed of overlapping colour fields, creating subtle gradients and nuanced shading. Four distinctive colour combinations are available: Blue/Terra, Blue/Brown, Ochre/Sand, and Nude/Bottle Green. Made from inherently flame retardant polyester, this flame retardant quality effectively reduces ambient noise, making it particularly suitable for spaces with high acoustic requirements.
SILENT TWILL is a softly flowing twill weave with a refined, silky appearance. The use of different warp and weft yarns creates a subtle iridescent effect. Thanks to its integrated acoustic-effect yarn, the inherently flame retardant fabric absorbs sound and enhances comfort in interiors with large reflective surfaces. Despite its technical performance, the fabric retains a natural and airy character.
SILENT MOON is a wide-width quality made from 100% recycled polyester, combining blackout functionality and inherent flame retardancy with excellent acoustic performance. Its textured crepe appearance and subtle sheen lend the fabric a contemporary look, while the satin weave on the reverse side allows for reversible use. Piece dyeing ensures that both sides display exactly the same colour. Available in 28 colours, Silent Moon offers a broad and finely nuanced palette.
The plain fabric QUINN features a muted matte texture and a soft hand. This wide-width quality is made from 100% recycled polyester, is inherently flame retardant, and achieves a strong acoustic rating. Depending on the light conditions, its subtle sheen becomes more pronounced, adding depth to the surface. The iridescent effect varies according to colour intensity, becoming increasingly visible in deeper shades.
